Fashion fever to grip the city!
City centre businesses are hosting a series of stylish events from the 1st to the 8th June. Independent boutiques and high-street brands will deliver a week of VIP shopping, demonstrations and fashion shows, as part of Sheffield BID’s drive to create a vibrant early evening economy.
The week-long campaign is the first of its kind in the city centre.
Sheffield BID manager, Diane Jarvis said: “Sheffield city centre has a strong independent offer complemented by leading high-street brands. Style Sheffield provides a collaborative platform to showcase fashion in the community and the diversity of the retail offer.”
Six early-evening events will be supported by several fringe activities.
Style Sheffield kicks off on Thursday, 1st June with Enter the Vault hosted by HSBC Bank and features some of Sheffield’s best known diamond experts and jewellers.
Sheffield Cathedral plays host to the grand-finale catwalk show on Thursday, 8th June. When leading retailers including Debenhams, Burton, M&S, Primark and Dorothy Perkins will deliver an inspirational summer fashion show.
Other events taking place for Style Sheffield include an independent designer showcase with a one-of-a-kind sample sale, a vintage “fashion through the ages” event, a beauty night with tutorial makeovers and a styling night with personal advice from the experts.
Diane added: ““The BID’s ambition is to bring about a long-term step change in the economy by promoting a different sort of evening retail experience combined with joint promotion of a new evening “offer” between retailers, restaurant operators and entertainment. Style Sheffield is just one way in which we can team up day and night time businesses to deliver a unique city centre experience.”
