Diane’s background is strategic marketing and business development with a wide mix of experience in both the private and public sector including economic development and place marketing.
She started her career in the manufacturing sector before moving into professional services, working in senior marketing roles for the accountants Grant Thornton and commercial property agents Chesterton International.
She then moved into inward investment and economic development, taking up the post as Head of Marketing at Renaissance South Yorkshire, the sub-regional delivery body tasked with delivering £1.6bn of Objective-1 funded infrastructure projects across Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield.
After this Diane worked in an interim management capacity on a number of publicly-funded programmes across local and central government, including Sheffield City Council’s £24m Local Enterprise Growth Initiative, designed to stimulate entrepreneurship in specific areas of the city.
Diane has also provided strategic marketing direction to Sheffield Hallam’s £2m food innovation programme as well as consulting with Serco plc on Customer Experience as part of its contract to manage the national Business Link digital service.
She joined Sheffield BID at the beginning of its first term in October 2015.
