Street Rangers gritting Sheffield’s streets
As Sheffield is hit by the coldest weather of the winter so far, Sheffield BID’s Street Rangers are helping to keep the city centre’s streets safe by gritting Sheffield’s pavements and shop fronts.
On a normal morning, the BID’s Street Rangers are out from 6am, providing an early morning cleaning service for levy payers affected by the waste and mess left by rough sleepers and late night revellers. In recent days, this task has been made almost impossible by the weather.
With much of Sheffield city centre under inches of snow, and levy payers struggling to keep the pavements outside their businesses safe and clear from ice, the Street Rangers are now working to grit Sheffield streets to help businesses keep safe and trading during the adverse weather.
Sheffield BID’s Street Ranger team will be out gritting the streets from Friday 2 March and will continue until the weather improves and they can return to normal duties.Share this article
