The city centre as you’ve never heard it before!

Enter the kaleidoscopic world of classical music – Sheffield Style – 17 – 19 March 2017

Sheffield’s “Classical Weekend ” is back with three days of musical discovery – this year with an even more diverse set of bite-size concerts. Visitors can wind their way around our musical city on a tuneful treasure trail through our best venues and beautiful buildings.

Discover incredible talent from across the region, music from around the world and some very special guests.

With formal and informal concerts, pop-up performances and interactive shows, families, beginners and long-time music lovers can all make beautiful memories and brand-new connections. Indulge in the incomparable, indefinable experience of live music and find something that stays with you forever.

Sheffield BID is helping to fund the return of Classical Sheffield (now in its second year), creating a bigger, more widely-publicised event with higher attendance and a more varied artistic programme.

This is a great way to reach different audiences, to get more people into city centre venues to enjoy low cost or free music, to raise the profile of Sheffield’s prolific classical music scene both in and outside the city, to involve more children and young people, and those who have never attended a classical music performance before.

Professional musicians and music organisations will collaborate with musicians from Sheffield’s thriving voluntary music sector, including young and culturally diverse musicians. Classical Sheffield will bring together instrumentalists, singers and audiences across the city for an intensive, celebratory and adventurous weekend of classical music.
