Sheffield BID is a headline sponsor for The Bears of Sheffield 2021 running from 12 July to 29 September. And as many people are planning to stay closer to home this summer, or take advantage of a staycation, we're behind a huge marketing effort with national reach to encourage over 500,000 people to take part in Sheffield city centre.
The Bears of Sheffield will animate the city centre, drive significant footfall and, with a supporting fringe programme managed by Sheffield BID, encourage dwell time and drive visitor spend.
The Bear necessities
Participating restaurants, eateries and cafes will provide kids eat free offers and other foodie promotions. Some of our bars and pubs will be offering Bears & Beers events whilst we'll be promoting visitor offers from a range of independent shops and high street brands. They'll be a number of Bear-themed pop up activities and family fun for all the family.

Cliffhanger and The Fringe
Our signature festivals Cliffhanger and The Fringe at Tramlines usually bring in an additional 140,000 visitors to the city centre over two weekends. This year, Cliffhanger is scheduled for Friday, 9 to Sunday, 11 July, transforming the city centre into an adventure playground! The Fringe will also take place Saturday, 24 to Sunday, 25 July. Both events will feature as part of a wider Summer in the Outdoor City programme delivered in partnership with Marketing Sheffield.
