About Sheffield BID Sheffield City Centre BID Limited (“Sheffield BID”) is the business‑led, not‑for‑profit organisation focused on improving the performance and competitiveness of Sheffield city centre. Our remit is clear: deliver a cleaner, safer, more attractive trading environment that supports business growth.
Since 2015, Sheffield BID has delivered targeted, levy‑funded improvements backed by a democratic mandate from city centre businesses. With over 350 BIDs across the UK — covering every major town and city — BID contributions have become a standard mechanism for delivering enhanced city centre services.
A decade+ of impactSince 2015, we have:
- Directed £7m+ of levy funding into high‑impact improvements that support the conditions businesses rely on: major events, enhanced street cleaning, safety operations and strategic place marketing.
- Leveraged £1m+ in match funding and external income to maximise return on levy contributions.
- Created a platform for city centre businesses to influence standards, shape priorities and benefit from shared activity that no single business could deliver alone.
BID 3: 2026–2031
In October 2025, city centre businesses voted for a third term.
From 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2031, BID 3 is focusing on measurable outcomes — delivering work that strengthens Sheffield’s trading environment, boosts footfall, enhances safety and supports the city centre’s competitiveness as a place to work, invest and operate.
