About Sheffield BID

Sheffield City Centre BID Ltd ("Sheffield BID") is a not-for-profit, business-led organisation working to enhance Sheffield city centre for everyone who lives, works, visits, and invests here.

Established in 2015, Sheffield BID is now in its tenth year, marking a decade of dedicated investment and partnership with city centre businesses. Through a democratic ballot process, eligible businesses vote to support the BID’s five-year programmes, which deliver targeted improvements beyond those provided by the local authority.

A decade of impact

Over the past ten years, Sheffield BID has:
  • Invested over £7 million into city centre events, festivals, street cleaning, safety initiatives, and place marketing.
  • Secured £1 million+ in match funding and external income.
  • Built a strong, collaborative business community across retail, hospitality, professional services, education, and the public sector.
Our current term (2021–2026) continues through to 31 March 2026, with planning also underway for BID 3 (2026–2031).

BID 3: planning for the future

The third term will see Sheffield BID transition (from the 2017) to the 2023 ratings list, ensuring levy contributions reflect current property valuations. The BID boundary is to be extended, bringing a wider area of the city centre into scope for BID services and investment.

This next chapter will continue to focus on delivering value for businesses and enhancing the experience of Sheffield city centre for all.
