‘Digital shop window’ refreshed in run-up to crucial trading period

A website that acts as a ‘digital shop window’ for businesses operating in Sheffield city centre, helping to better connect businesses with both current and prospective customers as well as general city centre visitors, has received a series of important updates ahead of the vital Christmas 2023 trading period.

Amongst the work that has been undertaken to sheffieldcitycentre.com, a site curated and managed by Sheffield City Centre Business Improvement District (Sheffield BID), is the reintroduction of a fully refreshed city centre business listing to sit alongside a series of visitor-friendly blogs and other feature articles.

The new blogs and articles, including dedicated content focused on transport, the city centre’s fantastic cinema offering and growing cafe culturehave been developed to help improve a visitor’s experience to the city centre. At the same time, a refreshed business directory has been added to better showcase and promote the city centre’s diverse and vibrant business community and offer a ‘one-stop digital shop window.’

The first phase of the enhanced high street directory is now live and Sheffield BID will continue its work over the coming weeks to ensure that every city centre business is included in the updated directory.

Diane Jarvis, Head of Business Operations for Sheffield BID said: “It’s vital to the long-term success of a changing city centre that we continue to use all the channels we have at our disposal to celebrate the wide range of fantastic businesses that have made – and continue to make – the city centre their home. Not just in helping to better connect the business community, but also to help visitors – new and old – to easily find out what’s happening in the city centre. We hope this work will add to the efforts we’re making to encourage more people to spend time in the city centre, increasing footfall and more frequent repeat visitors.”

City centre businesses that are not currently listed, or would like to make changes to their profile entry, are urged to contact Sheffield BID on: enquiries@sheffieldbid.com.

Sheffieldcitycentre.com is part of Sheffield BID’s commitment to delivering a mobile-first digital marketing experience, catering to the demands of changing generations, providing visual impact from any device.
