First volunteer activation: Thursday 19 March, 10am–12 noon
Sheffield BID is marking the launch of its new BID Binfluencers volunteer initiative by taking part in Keep Britain Tidy’s Great British Spring Clean on Wednesday 19 March.
The programme will bring together businesses, employees, residents and partners to support a cleaner, better‑maintained and more welcoming city centre.
The first activation, running from 10am to 12 noon, will focus on litter picking, light cleansing activity and championing behaviours that contribute to a well‑cared‑for public realm. It forms part of Sheffield BID’s BID 3 commitment to expand volunteer days, increasing opportunities for businesses and the wider community to play an active role in enhancing the city centre environment.
Sheffield BID will be joined on the day by Suzy Brain England, Chair of Keep Britain Tidy — and former Chair of Sheffield BID — who will help welcome and motivate volunteers as the programme gets underway.

This programme offers a practical way for businesses and partners to help care for the spaces we share, and even a single morning can make a meaningful difference. We’re inviting volunteers to join us, get involved and help set the tone for spring in the city centre.”
Volunteers taking part in the 19 March clean‑up will be provided with equipment, route options and support from the Sheffield BID team. Meeting points and final details will be shared with participants ahead of the day. All that’s needed is comfortable footwear and a willingness to get involved.
