Sheffield BID represents the interests of around 500 organisations, including major high street brands, large corporates and local businesses in retail, office, culture and leisure, food and restaurant, night-time economy, education and the public sector.
Since its formation, Sheffield BID has delivered many innovative solutions, services and initiatives to support businesses and the wider community, investing (to date) over £5.2 million into the safety and cleanliness of the street scene, additional policing and ambassadors, major festivals, events and animation.
We are now looking to appoint a new independent Chair to our non-executive board. Someone who can lead the Board and provide strategic focus to a team of 16 non-executive directors.
About the role
You will help us to shape the structure of the Board in a way that will bring together the strengths of the local business community and a clear representation of the views and opinions from all sectors in the city centre.
Your natural style will be collegiate and collaborative, yet also challenging and able to act as a critical friend when appropriate.
You will need to be visible and possess the diplomacy and people skills to work effectively with our members and other key stakeholders. You will be an important ambassador for Sheffield BID and the city centre.
We are looking to appoint an experienced Chair who is actively involved in the city, who will add value to the Board with strategic leadership skills, a passion for the city centre and the wider city.
